Some html tricks

While building web pages, I have wanted to use various tricks. I have found out how to do these by reading books and examining other people's web sites. Then I have forgotten how I did it, and had to repeat the process.

To avoid this inefficient repetition in future, I have put the tricks in one place, on this site, where I will be able to find them myself. Anyone else who wants to use them is welcome to do so.

These sample pages listed below are not meant to be aesthetic. Each just shows the use of a technique, as simply as possible. I have concentrated on simplifying the javascript, often to the point where I can understand how it works.

Boxes puts a tidy box around something.
Rollovers does simple rollovers.
Tooltips that appear when you hover over paragraphs.
Window size detection.
Browser Plug-ins detected and listed.
Frames, and how to use a list-box to make something happen.
Pop-up Menus, similar to Z-Menus.
A PNG anti-aliased in transparent, with instructions on how to create one.
Use of transparent screens:
- Nicely done with PNGs
- Less nicely done with check screens
Sound effects, using WAV files.
Animated Wallpaper.
